“Go for it now! The future is promised to no one.” –Wayne Dyer, motivational speaker
The story goes like this…
They once surveyed groups of elderly people in different nursing homes and retirement villages across the region… and they asked them, “What is the BIGGEST thing in life you regret?”
The answers that these elderly folks gave might surprise you…
Although they all invariably gave different answers to that question to the researchers… all their answers hinged on ONE crucial element.
In fact, this element is so crucial… I believe that if a person can get this and understand it at an early enough age… it will be a near impossibility for anyone to stop this person from attaining virtually anything they want out of this life!
So what is it these elderly people in their 80’s, 90’s and even 100’s regretted?
Here it is: They regretted not going after the MANY opportunities that presented themselves to them, during their long lives of existence on this earth.
They regretted not going after their dreams. They regretted not pursuing their passions.
When asked why they never went after certain opportunities, dreams and passions… the researchers pretty much heard the same things. These folks never took action… because they were FEARFUL of what may happen if they fail or fall short of their aspirations.
They never chased opportunities because they were scared of what other people would say or think about them.
On the flip side of things… NONE of their regrets in life ever hinged on them failing at a opportunity they tried… and none of their regrets ever centered around them falling short of going after that dream of theirs.
So today, I want to leave you with these words, beloved. Go after your dreams. Go after opportunities that present themselves to you. The Bible tells us in Ecclesiastes 9:11 that, “Time and chance happen to us ALL!”
This is your time and this is your chance. Live life fully… so that at the end stages of your life, you will hold no regrets in your heart.
Have a GREAT day!
